AUSTIN - State Representative Travis Clardy was appointed by Speaker Dade Phelan to serve on the Committee on Culture, Recreation, and Tourism (CRT) and the Committee on Elections for the 2021 Legislative Session.
“With the announcement of these committee assignments, the Texas House can begin its work.” Rep. Clardy said. "Speaker Phelan has the House off to a great start with these committee assignments."
CRT has jurisdiction over state parks, preservation of wildlife, hunting and fishing, and preservation of our historical and cultural resources, and it has oversight of the Parks and Wildlife Department, Commission on the Arts, State Cemetery Committee, State Library, and Historical Commission. The Committee on Elections has jurisdiction over voting rights, campaign finance, and revisions to the election code, and oversight of the Office of the Secretary of State.
"It is an honor to be assigned to these two committees. I am pleased to serve on CRT, where we will overseeing one of the leading economic engines that drives the Texas economy.
Additionally, I am excited about getting to work on election integrity reforms. I look forward to working with Governor Abbott and his team on one of his emergency legislative items.”
Representative Clardy is currently serving his fifth term as the State Representative for House District 11, which includes Cherokee, Nacogdoches, and Rusk counties.
